Here is what I did in the past year:
✨ May: Life decisions
I moved out of my apartment to be with my parents. Low key didn’t want to spend money on an apartment if I wasn’t going into the office.
🏃♀️ June: Running
I don’t know how I was motivated, but I ran 70 miles in June (130 miles in 3 months). Most likely because I couldn’t do anything else when everything else was shut down due to COVID.
📣 July: AskVCs
Career-wise I was lost and had a ton of questions. I could have turned to my investor friends, but I wanted more opinions and share those responses with others who might find it helpful in the future. So I started a weekly Q&A email by introducing anonymity.
💼 August: M25 Virtual Summit
I couldn’t think about any personal highlight that stood out this month other than working on the M25 virtual summit.
🏛 September: Angel Investments
I started to put together a group of investors to make small check angel investments. That saved rent money had to go somewhere!
📚October: Series 65
SEC definition around accredited investors (AIs) changed and wanted to take advantage of it. One of the ways you can now be an AIs is by taking the Series 65. Later, we found out that you have to be an IAR, which costs $$ to be active.
🌳 November: 1 for 2 Education Foundation
1 for 2 is a foundation that I am part of, and I help behind the scenes during the application cycle for the scholarship. This year, we bought a platform to take of the application instead of my hacked solution that was breaking.
🫖 December: Side project
I spent a ton of time building out a niche product that I identified. Later, I set up a website and forgot about it. Then, random people started buying it! The first side project that resulted in $ 🙌
☎️ January: TikTok
I spent a ton of time on TikTok studying and experimenting with content. I started making content and helped others go viral.
💸 February: $10K
I randomly won $10K from Mr.Beast in a Clubhouse room. More here.
🚗 March: San Diego to SF
I made a mini road trip from San Diego to SF utilizing Airbnb, Uber, and Amtrak.
〰️ April: India COVID Wave
Probably the worst month ever as the second (3rd?) wave started in India with a new variant. It was bad news every day and anxious every second.
